I feel so accomplished right now. I made Marshmallows!! I dont know why it seemed like such a huge feat for me, but marshmallows seem like they should be really difficult to make. The reality is, they are very easy to make!
I found this recipe from Mommypotamus. It has only 3 ingredients! It kind of blew my mind and I didn’t think they would actually turn out like marshmallows. Well, I was pleasantly surprised and I am definitely planning on making more. I think these will be really fun to give out for neighbor gifts or at a party. They are healthy, unique, and everyone will think you are a kitchen god. 😉
These turned out so great, I’m so ecstatic about them!
fun little orange juice jigglers
I made some awesome healthy fruit jigglers, and let me tell you… They are so much fun! They jiggle hard-core and my kids think they are great! This is a great healthy recipe and I actually got it right off the Knox Gelatine box. I can’t believe I haven’t tried it until recently. I have done a couple different varieties: 100% grapefruit juice and this time 100% orange juice. Fairly plain for now while I am figuring it out, but I think it will be fun to mix up juices and add chopped fruit to it as well. There are a lot of fun possibilities.
Fudgy Banana Bites
I was having a sweety chocolate craving this morning. Since I am an addict, I can make do with almost anything. I found this recipe and thought it looked pretty good. And hey! I had all the ingredients! So, I made them this morning.
They are pretty good. I mean, don’t get me wrong. Yes, I would rather have REAL dark chocolate. But, this is a pretty good alternative if you are desperate for some sweet chocolatey goodness! Continue reading
black bean brownies
Okay, I will admit it. Beans really don’t belong in baked goods. I have tried it a few times and I just can’t get over the aftertaste. I just don’t like the weird texture/taste of the beans in my brownies.
The health nut in me wants to LOVE the idea of beans in my brownies and I have given the beans a few chances to win me over. No such luck. Sorry beans! You are more than welcome to join my dinner with a side of brown rice! 🙂 Continue reading
yummy minty goodness!
I made some yummy, healthy peppermint patties recently. The best part is? (besides how yummy they are) They are SO EASY to make!
I brought some that I made to a family birthday party and everyone loved them (especially my dad, who is a mint FANATIC!).
I wasn’t super specific with measurements and just made the mint part until it looked like it was a good texture and tastes minty and sweet. So, when you try the recipe yourself, don’t be afraid to experiment a little bit with the amounts of things.
